Shag to Chic operates from two dedicated locations in Steinbach; our STC dog grooming salon and Whiskers Lodge, a quiet space next door designed exclusively for cat grooming and cat boarding. 


At our grooming salon, we provide professional dog grooming, Skin and Coat Consults, and ongoing care, while Canine Massage and Bodywork sessions are offered in the calm, low-stress environment of Whiskers Lodge.

    For over a decade, we have been serving the pets and pet parents of Steinbach and our surrounding communities. From Kleefeld, Grunthal, LaBroquerie, Niverville and Ste. Anne all the way to east of Kenora, Ontario, we have imprinted our loving care and personalized service on thousands of fur babies. We are a team of 12 highly skilled Stylists and support staff. With professional services catering to both dogs and cats, we not only provide superior styling and a positive experience but our main focus unwaiveringly remains your pet's health, happiness and safety for continued grooming success. We are well versed in all facets of pet grooming from superior de-sheds, utilitarian trims all the way to full show styles. We specialize in health and behavior challenges, trauma, grooming rehabilitation/desensitization, medical limitations/monitoring as well as getting each and every pet started off right for a lifetime of grooming success.

    Our team collectively has decades of experience to offer you and your pet that goes above and beyond pet grooming.  Training in animal psychology including behavior modification, veterinary medical training/experience along with a passion for your pets health and total wellness sets us apart in the grooming world. Shag to Chic specializes not only in show trims, but working with pets with mild to severe medical issues, physical limitations and those who have severe behavior challenges or experienced trauma in their lives. Our team of pet grooming stylists is led by owner, Rhonda Tonn. She has dedicated her career to both the grooming industry and the veterinary medical industry for over 2 decades. Spending nearly a decade working at a mixed animal practice has brought extensive exposure and shared medical and behavioral knowledge to the entire team. Shag to Chic at the forefront of giving your pet the absolute best. We work as a team to ensure your dog or cat not only receives superior styling and care, but also work as your team of professionals to create a situation that will set your pet up for a lifetime of health and grooming success. Success that not only make at home maintenance possible and enjoyable, but also helps build skills and confidence that will far transcend just the grooming table.

All pet grooming sessions begin with a thorough consult where the specifics of your desired trim are discussed as well as any limitations your pet's health, coat type, condition and his/her tolerance may have on the desired outcome as well. We must be collectively understanding there may be times when we are unable to meet an expectation due to behavior, tolerance, stamina, coat condition, health concerns and other limitations that arise working with all animals.
